Products capable of being registered under Design
Every design of the product which is new and original, not previously known and bears unique and different surface ornamentation as can be seen with human eyes is capable of being registered under Design Act as Industrial Design.
It can be used as an alternative to patent if product is new and not capable to being patented.
The high resolution photograph of the design of the product from various angles like Top , Front, Back , Right Side /Left side as applicable forming the integral with the article/product are filed for registration.
Duration of Registered Design
Registration of design is valid for 10 years. Registration grants copyright in registered Design.
The user is required to write Registration number engraved/embossed/printed on every product which is registered.
